The safe sandy beach at Dawlish Warren stretches for 2 miles. It slopes very gently into the sea, and so provides a perfect place for bathing. The Family Beach area is ideal for children to have fun in the water, especially because an experienced team of lifeguards is on hand to watch over them. The beach is European Blue Flag and Seaside Award Clean Beach status, that with a new water treatment plant at Dawlish Warren makes the bathing waters some of the cleanest now in Europe. It has good public facilities nearby, along with large grassed play area, children's rides, amusements, cafes and shops all in an area safely away from the road. Only 15 minutes from Exeter and 30 minutes from Dartmoor.

Dawlish Warren is a safe family beach. Lifeguard Patrol: Daily 10.30 and 18.00 Whist to 2nd week in September. Bathing water quality testing season: 1st May to 30th September. Dog Ban: 1st May to 30th Sept. Slipway and groyne 3. Toilet Facilities: Beach Way and Outer car park. Beach cafe, restaurant facilities and take aways are numerous around the resort.
